Meet Dr. Watson, Periodontist
Stephen C. Watson, DDS, MS
Diplomate of The American Board of Periodontology
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Watson completed his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University in College Station. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Watson then completed a three-year residency program in Periodontics and Implantology at The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. While there, he also received a Master of Science degree in Oral Biology. Dr. Watson has been practicing in the Houston and Sugar Land areas since 1997. His practice is limited to Periodontics and Dental Implantology. Dr. Watson is a board-certified periodontist.
Dr. Watson is a past president of the Greater Houston Society of Periodontists (1999-2000). He values professional development and is an active member of many other professional organizations including the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Southwest Society of Periodontists, Texas Society of Periodontists, Greater Houston Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, and American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
The Southern Academy of Periodontics awarded Dr. Watson 1st place in the annual Pennel research competition for his findings on periodontal disease and juvenile diabetes. He has presented his research findings at annual meetings for the American Association of Dental Research, Southern Academy of Periodontics, and the American Academy of Periodontology and has numerous publications.
Dr. Watson also founded and is the primary leader of a Spear study club, in which general dentists and other specialists have monthly meetings and attend seminars in Scottsdale, Arizona at the prestigious Spear Dental Institute for continuing education.
Dr. Watson resides locally with his wife, Lisa. They have two grown sons.
